What led you to study abroad? Why did you choose your country/program?

Interest in Italian culture, food and language. Italy is centrally located in Europe enabling easier travel to Europe and Northern Africa.

What was the most interesting cultural experience you had abroad?

Speaking to Serbians in Albanian-majority Kosovo, Visiting Chernobyl in Ukraine.

What was the biggest challenge/concern of your study abroad experience? How did you respond?

I was worried I'd overrun my budget, but managed to get around that by using cheap transport options such as Ryan/wizz air and Flixbus.

Describe a typical day for you abroad.

Typical weekday was class, then home to make late lunch followed by either gyming or running within the city, along the Arno or outside of the city.

What coursework did you take while abroad? How did courses abroad compare with Berkeley classes?

Intro to Entrepreneurship, 3 hours of Italian.

What impact did studying abroad have on you personally?

I think now I'm a bolder, more assertive person.

What was the most memorable/meaningful aspect of your time abroad?

My visits to Ukraine, Northern Ireland and Kosovo where the most eye opening. My visit to Budapest with friends was the most fun.

What would you recommend to students considering studying abroad, especially to your country or program?
