Facing Fuji-San
Spring 2018 | Mt Fuji, Japan
"We decided that in our last week in Japan we would climb Mt. Fuji even if it killed us, and then it almost did. A typhoon stranded us at the last checkpoint before the summit in five layers of soaked clothing, with a warning that continuing to the top would keep us there for several more days. With some emergency sweatpants, Cup Noodles, and some ribbing about ""the journey, not the destination..."" we were ready to make peace with Fuji-san on the way down, in a lighter drizzle.
