    • Make progress towards your degree via an online offering of Data 100
    • Learn about British arts and culture through an on-site course, Theater 20U
    • Live with other program participants in shared apartments located in central London

    About London

The birthplace of Shakespeare and the Beatles, England boasts a rich history and heritage. London is the center of British politics and business and is a world power in media and advertising. London is also deeply multicultural, with one in three Londoners born in another country. Outside of your internship, share a traditional English breakfast with mates, ride to new heights on the London Eye, or whisk around the city on the underground.

    Program Details

    Dates:

    • London: January 16 - May 15, 2027
    • Courses: January 19 - May 14, 2027

    Dates are subject to change.

    Units: 13 units

    Language of Instruction: English

    Three Required Courses:

    On-site courses:

    • Theater 20U: London-Theater Capital (3 units)

      Fulfills: Arts and Literature breadth

    • Data 197: Internship in Data Science (6 units)
    • Data 100: Principles and Techniques of Data Science (4 units)*

*Students will be enrolled in a UCB campus-based section of DATA 100. While the course is offered online, it cannot be completed by participants asynchronously or independently. All program participants must watch the recorded lecture at the London Study Centre to mimic a traditional lecture environment, as in-person attendance is required to maintain your student visa status. The DATA 100 discussion is the only remote course session for this program.

**Due to UKVI student visa requirements, attendance for all program requirements (class and internship) is strictly enforced. If you have disability-related absences listed in a DSP accommodations letter, your instructor will work with you on making up missed academic content for a reasonable number of DSP related absences. That being said, UKVI visa regulations do not differentiate between “excused” and “unexcused” absences. And unfortunately, the UKVI visa regulations do not take DSP considerations into account. This means that UK visa regulations legally supersede DSP accommodations and students will need to fulfill all attendance and internship requirements in order to maintain their visa compliance throughout the semester.

    Housing

Students will live in fully-furnished apartment-style accommodations in central London.

    • Students will have access to a shared bathroom and communal kitchen to prepare meals.
    • Students will be randomly assigned to shared rooms. Gender-inclusive housing options are available on this program. If you have clarifying questions, please feel free to reach out to the program staff.
