Advising Resources
Berkeley Programs Questionnaire
No.
Please submit course information and syllabus to the undergraduate adviser for pre-approval at the time of application. Performance requirements within the major must be fulfilled at UC Berkeley, but theory, composition, history, and culture courses can all be applied to other requirements or electives in the major.
UCEAP Programs Questionnaire
Two courses.

Yes, our L&S major map has suggestions for planning for study abroad in both our 2- and 4-year plans. We strongly encourage Music majors and minors to incorporate study abroad into their academic plans.
Course information (including, but not limited to, course number, title, description, unit value, lower-division vs. upper-division, offering institution) and syllabus are submitted to the undergraduate adviser. Information will be routed to the appropriate faculty for review. General timeframe for approval is a month; please allow extra time during the beginning/end of the semester, winter break, and summer, as many faculty are on break and may not be responsive to study abroad evaluation requests.
