All courses are reviewed on a case by case basis. Students should meet with the major advisor to discuss the course they would like to have evaluated. Ideally, this should be done prior to having left for a study abroad program so students know whether the course will count towards completing a major requirement. The student submits an online petition to apply study abroad coursework towards the major. The petition is reviewed by the Faculty Advisor for approval/denial. The time frame can take 2-3 weeks once submitted.

Yes. Only certain populations of students receive academic holds:
- Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or lower
- Students on Academic Probation
- Students graduating in the next semester
- Undeclared Students - In 5th semester or more
Some Rausser College students, including those studying abroad, may receive an Academic hold which prevents them from registering for the following term. The undergraduate advisor will email students in advance of their Phase I appointments requesting a proposed schedule for the following term. Once the student and advisor come to an agreement about the proposed schedule, the hold will be released so the student can enroll into their courses. For students abroad during their Phase 1, this can be done via email/ Zoom.
Make sure you are all clear with your senior residency requirement, ask about modified senior residency.
