What led you to study abroad? Why did you choose your country/program?

I have never lived in Europe before, so after my junior year I decided to give it a try to go to Europe, specifically England because I wanted to learn more about the British culture.

What was the most interesting cultural experience you had abroad?

Tea culture in the UK; tea-crawling.

What was the biggest challenge/concern of your study abroad experience? How did you respond?

I was concerned that it would a different education system that I was not used to. But University College London (UCL) turned out to be pretty flexible and much easier than I thought.

Describe a typical day for you abroad.

Wake up at 8 am, cook breakfast for myself; go to classes; do some reading and go to the gym at 5 pm.

What coursework did you take while abroad? How did courses abroad compare with Berkeley classes?

I took four economics class; I thought all of them required less workload than the ones at Berkeley.

What was the most memorable/meaningful aspect of your time abroad?

During my trip to Iceland, we had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and had to change it ourselves.

What impact did studying abroad have on you personally?

It broadened my perspective on issues regarding Europe.

What would you recommend to students considering studying abroad, especially to your country or program?

Make friends outside your country of origin - European people are super fun to talk with.
