Gilman Scholarship Application Workshop

Are you a Federal Pell Grant recipient and U.S. citizen who is planning to study and/or intern abroad? Attend the Gilman Scholarship Application Workshop and learn about the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, a federal scholarship which funds up to $5,000 towards a study abroad experience. Co-presented by Berkeley Study Abroad and the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, the Gilman Scholarship Application Workshop will offer a presentation on Gilman eligibility requirements and the Gilman application process, as well as a detailed overview on how the Gilman scholarship will factor into your financial aid package.

Helpful tips and advice for preparing a strong application will be shared, followed by a Q&A with a panel of UC Berkeley Gilman Scholars.

The Gilman Scholarship application deadline is on Thursday, March 5 at 11:59PM (Pacific Time). The current application cycle is for summer 2026, fall 2026, spring 2027 and year 2026-2027 in-person credit-bearing study abroad or intern abroad programs. All applicants will be notified of their application status via email by the Gilman Program in May 2026.
