Jerry Sanders, Ph.D.
Dr. Jerry Sanders is a Senior Lecturer and Chair Emeritus of Peace and Conflict Studies at UC Berkeley. Dr. Sanders holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UC Berkeley, where he has taught courses on peace theory; war, culture, and society; global change and world order; international conflict; and building global peace.
Dr. Sanders' teaching and research interests include critical cosmopolitan theory and practice; globalization and governance; human security and peacebuilding; and neo-conservatism in American political culture and foreign policy. He has authored important academic books, journals, and encyclopedias on peace and conflict, as well as articles in World Policy, The Nation, The Progressive, In These Times, and Mother Jones.
In addition, Dr. Sanders has served as a community development Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia, and has taught abroad in Spain, Mexico, Sweden, Argentina, and Costa Rica.
