Prague is known as the largest city of the Czech Republic and is located on the Vltava River. It is the capital of the country as well as the historical capital of Bohemia. It was the main residence for various Holy Roman Emperors and an important city in the Bohemian and Protestant Reformation.
Being one of the few major cities that suffered considerably little damage during World War II, Prague's historic architecture has been maintained over the years. It contains one of the world's most varied collections of architecture, from Romanesque, to Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Gothic, Art Nouveau, Cubist, Neo-Classical and ultra-modern.
Founded in 1348, Charles University is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe, the first university in Central Europe, and ranks in the top 1.5% of the world's top universities. The key priority of Charles University is to continue to enhance its prestigious status as a research university. To achieve this aim, the University focuses strongly on research activities.
Housing and MealsYou will live in doubles in dormitories at Charles University. Housing will include a shared kitchen, living room, bathroom, and access to laundry facilities
