All applicants who do not meet the language prerequisite for the Madrid Internship Program (five semesters of college-level Spanish) are required to submit a Language Evaluation Form.

If you have taken a Spanish course within the past year, ask the instructor of that course to complete the Language Evaluation Form.

If you are a UC Berkeley student and have not taken a Spanish course within the past year or are a native Spanish speaker, contact Professor Victoria Robertson in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at vikaus@berkeley.edu to make an appointment to complete the Language Evaluation Form.

If you are a visiting student and have not taken a Spanish course within the past year or are a native Spanish speaker, contact a Spanish instructor at your home institution to make an appointment to complete the Language Evaluation Form. Once the form is completed, please have the instructor submit it directly to Global Internships.

You must submit a copy of your language evaluation within 14 calendar days from the day the online application is submitted or by March 1, 2022, whichever comes first.

You may upload the completed Language Evaluation Form as a part of your application, or submit the form in the "Upload Materials" section of your Berkeley Study Abroad application portal.

Please note that applications will be considered incomplete until the language evaluation has been submitted. Failure to complete your application does not make you eligible for a refund of the application deposit.
