Hong Kong is an international center of business and culture. Its origins lie in generations of migration, British colonialism, and its Cantonese heritage. Currently a Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong means Fragrant Harbor in Cantonese. It is a destination for many visitors and global business people each year, and offers immense shopping, food, historic, cultural, and religious opportunities to explore. A city that rarely rests; there are always festivals, concerts, light shows, beaches, and more ways to engage this densely populated city.
