Congratulations! Your amazing study abroad adventure is right around the corner.

A few things to note before you prepare for your trip:

Share your experience

Follow us on Instagram and tag us in your study abroad photos. We’d love to share your pictures from abroad! Make sure to tell us where you’re studying and through which program provider (UCEAP, Berkeley Summer Abroad, Berkeley Global Internships, independent, or affiliate programs).

UCEAP Pre-Departure requirements

1. Systemwide UCEAP Pre-Departure Checklist

Log into your UCEAP Portal to view the systemwide UCEAP Pre-Departure requirements for your program. Information on fees and payments, insurance, and your official program calendar are/will be available through this portal.

2. Berkeley Campus Pre-Departure Checklist

In addition to the systemwide UCEAP requirements, UC Berkeley students must complete a campus-specific checklist which can be found in your Berkeley Study Abroad Portal. Log in to your application using your CalNet ID, and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Safety abroad

Our students’ health and safety are top priorities for Berkeley Study Abroad.

We ask that while you’re studying abroad to be aware of current events, your surroundings, and use caution when necessary.

For more information on emergency protocols, please contact your program adviser.

When you return

Consider being a Study Abroad Ambassador or a Peer Adviser when you return from abroad.

If you will be on campus next semester, you can volunteer as a Study Abroad Ambassador and help promote study abroad at Berkeley through social media and outreach events.

If you are a current Berkeley student with work-study eligibility, you can apply to be a Peer Adviser and work for Berkeley Study Abroad during the next academic year.
