Use the tools below to determine your costs for the UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP):
- Cost estimates
UCEAP provides a cost estimate for each of its programs. Navigate to your UCEAP program page, select the Cost tab, and view the Estimated EAP Costs for your program.
- Student budget worksheet
For a detailed breakdown of UCEAP program costs, review the student budget worksheet for your program. Click to the UCEAP Participants Page, select your program, and click on the Money Matters tab.
Cost information includes UC fees paid to UCEAP as well as estimated personal expenses such as airfare, meals, and books.
Billing and Payments
Students are billed by UCEAP to their MyEAP account (not CARS) for the UC fees portion of the student budget worksheet. You are responsible for making payments to UCEAP according to the payment schedule listed in the student budget worksheet.
- If you do not receive financial aid or if your financial aid package is less than the total UC fees amount, you will have a balance in MyEAP. The balance is due by the final payment deadline indicated in the student budget worksheet for your program. An Extended Payment Plan is available from UCEAP to pay for UC fees owed.
- If your financial aid package is greater than the total UC fees amount, you do not have to make any payments to UCEAP. Any financial aid in MyEAP in excess of your UC fees is refunded to you via paper check—for a faster refund, set up an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) with UCEAP (even if you already have an EFT with UC Berkeley).
Students receiving financial aid for their UCEAP term are not required to make the first payment to UCEAP—the first payment is always deferred for financial aid students.
All students are responsible for paying estimated personal expenses on an out-of-pocket basis. Financial aid may be used for these costs after any refund is disbursed.
